Yonit & Clive

Meet the founders of Journey Recovery & Wellness Centre: Yonit & Clive Blumenthal.

With a wealth of life experience and a deeply personal experience of addiction, Clive’s 18 years of sobriety along with his unique perspective and understanding of addiction & trauma make it easy for him to get through to his patients and assist them closely on their road to recovery.

Yonit has the first-hand experience of being a wife and mother during Clive’s years in active addiction. This valuable life experience, coupled with her intuition and extensive professional training make her an exceptional counselor.

With their strong desire to help others heal from the pain of addiction, Yonit & Clive founded Journey over a decade ago as a safe place where you can break the shackles of addiction by working through trauma, rediscovering yourself, reconnecting with others, and reawakening your passion for life.

Ashnee Moodley

One of the friendly faces that you’ll meet at Journey Ballito: @ashnee.moodley is our Facility Manager and a ray of sunshine in the lives of both our patients and staff. Here’s how she describes herself in her own word

I am a driven individual with a strong passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others. My journey has provided me with the opportunity to guide our clients towards finding hope and empowerment

I hail from the stunning province of KZN, renowned for its golden sands and warm beaches that mirror my vibrant personality. I come from a family deeply rooted in values of honesty, trust, loyalty, and faith

With nearly two decades in the medical field, I have collaborated with esteemed doctors, physiotherapists, caregivers, and nurses

🔵 What do I do at Journey?

As the Facility Manager at the Journey Ballito branch, I am a hands-on leader, involved in every aspect of the facility’s operations. Whether it’s sales or culinary support, I am there. I ensure our skilled staff perform their duties to the highest standard and guarantee our clients experience a seamless transition from addiction to reintegration into society

Tony Subramony

Meet Tony Subramony: a valued member of our Journey Ballito team and a qualified social worker who has walked his own journey of recovery for the past 35 years.

Tony is absolutely passionate about supporting and assisting others who wish to embrace recovery from all forms of addiction… He conducts many of our group therapy sessions, where he combines his decades of experience and compassionate nature with a holistic approach to the treatment of underlying trauma.

As another string to his bow, Tony is also a certified specialist in Acudetox: a form of acupuncture known as auricular acupuncture that provides relief from the symptoms often experienced during the withdrawal from addiction.

Christian Kalil

Meet Christian Kalil: our patient care coordinator & manager at Journey Recovery & Wellness Centre in Ballito. With experience at both our Johannesburg and Ballito rehab facilities, Christian embodies the Journey ethos of compassionate care and individual attention.
