Outpatient Treatment Programme
For clients who have a semblance of functionality; an ability to hold down employment/attend to their studies; or if they cannot leave their lives to attend the inpatient programme, then the outpatient programme could be the solution and may suit their needs very well.
Our focus is on Life Skills, and in almost every group, in various forms, we address new skills, dealing with underlying trauma, and teaching ways to cope with emotions. Our goal is to increase emotional intelligence whilst working on supporting our clients in new ways to remain clean and sober.
Our approach is one of a Bio-Psycho-Social methodology. We are a dual diagnoses clinic/program, and we support our clients who are on medication and under psychiatric care.
The groups are designed around a holistic approach to recovery, and we believe that if we address all three aspects, a client has a stronger opportunity to remain clean and sober.
Freedom Through Structure
Our outpatient clients receive their schedules upon admission in their treatment file and given a time-slot for their individual counselling session.
- Morning or afternoon Options are available, and the choice is based on their responsibilities, and the circumstances which pertain to their particular situation.
- Morning groups start at 9.30am and run till 1pm with a half hour break every hour and including a half-hour of written work.
- Afternoon groups start at 3pm and run till 5.30pm with a half hour break.
If our clients are not working or studying, we recommend participation in both the morning and afternoon groups until they feel more stable and able to start looking at future prospects. We offer outpatient treatment care for up to 12 months of the person’s sobriety.
Beyond outpatient treatment, we encourage ongoing individual therapy, as well as attendance at aftercare for as long as the client feels it is necessary to attend. Most of our long-term recovering clients attend aftercare for a minimum of 2 years, and there is no extra charge for this service.
